Deutsche Bank assesses Temporal for processing high volume and time-critical transactions
View slides ›

Temporal is used to orchestrate the processing of transactions, whose lifecycles are often initiated by an external triggers and completed with internal record keeping and external communication.

Several workflows are executed per transaction, each of which invokes a number of synchronous and asynchronous activities, many of which result in state change in systems outside of the transaction processing environment.

Daily transaction volumes will be in the millions and the end-to-end latency for each transaction must be no more than a few seconds. Every transaction is critical; they must not be lost, and they must be processed only once. There are event and batch-based aspects to this use case.

We hope that the PoC will validate our motivations for using Temporal in this PoC, which include workflow-as-code (using Java), scalability, observability and cloud-based infrastructure.

Swift and Reliable Asset Trades with Temporal
View slides ›

GGX is a platform that offers end-to-end infrastructure solutions for game developers to seamlessly introduce digital asset trading mechanics into any game, using a software development kit (SDK). A typical asset trade on GGX involves multiple gRPC calls between micro-services. Ensuring atomicity and durability between these micro-services becomes really important. In this talk, you will hear about how we initially built the system with Celery to process trades asynchronously, the challenges we faced, and how we eventually migrated to Temporal to ensure trades were processed swiftly and reliably. We will also discuss how the workflows are architected and how revert mechanisms are handled.
