Prioritize Tasks, Allocate Compute Fairly, and Delight Your Customers

May 14th, 2026 at 9am PST/12pm EST

When dealing with multi-tenant architecture, it’s critical to ensure that all of your customers are being taken care of. Whether you’re trying to prioritize a VIP customer’s requests or create fair processing for all users with a specific SLA, there is a ton of work involved. Setting up custom logic, jury-rigging suboptimal third-party queueing tools… there are a lot of headaches. And bandwidth chewed up. And time wasted.

Enter Task Queue Priority & Fairness from Temporal. With this new feature set, Temporal users can easily customize the order in which tasks are completed, from defining Priority rules that determine which tasks run first to designing Fairness configurations that balance workloads across tenants, ensuring consistent performance even during demand surges. It’s priority where it matters and fairness where it counts.
